Laurie is a lifelong resident of the New Orleans metro area. She grew up working for the family printing business and has remained in the industry for the past 40 years. In 2013 Laurie opened her own promotional items business, Your Promo Paradise, LLC.
Laurie served for several on the HRC New Orleans Steering Committee, HRC New Orleans Dinner Committee and was a HRC Dinner Co-Chair in 2017. She is currently a Board Member of the Gulf South LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Her business was Certified as an LGBT Business Enterprise in 2014 through the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Beginning June 2019, she will serve as a board member of the New Orleans Advocates for Gay & Lesbian Elders (NOAGE).
She believes in the importance of the coming together of everyone under the LGBT umbrella and stays involved in organizations and events that promote healthy relationships and support within the community.
