Nicholas Nesbit was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana, and moved to New Orleans at the age of 12 years old. He attended Aurora Gardens Academy in Algiers, and graduated from Brother Martin High School year 1995. Following high school, he moved back to Baton Rouge to complete a degree at Louisiana State University in Construction Management which he used to complete various property flips in the Warehouse District of New Orleans. His last construction project was that of a metal fabrication building across from the popular Cottonmill Condominiums. After surveying the area, him and his brother decided that they would turn this property into a local neighborhood market. This led to the opening of Poeyfarre Market which was later re-branded to Nesbit’s Market after the second location was established.
Nicholas has many philanthropic accomplishments over the years including his work for Lazzarus House via Halloween New Orleans Board 4 years, LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce New Orleans Board, LAMBDA Center Board 3 years. He has also served on the board of his condominium Gallery Row for 6 years including president of association during his tenure on board.
